Our interior update has begun. Our hotel is improving our guest rooms and other spaces to make our hotel even more comfortable and inviting to guests. For this project, we have an opening for a Maintenance Engineer who will be dedicated to the remodel. This position is expected to be full time and will collaborate with and work under the direction of other staff as part of our Holiday Inn team.

Major assignments will include:
Replacing floor coverings - including carpet, laminate, and tile
HVAC and Electrical Updates: Modifying and updating heating, ventilation, air-conditioning, and electrical in rooms
Maintaining Door Hardware - Updating and adjusting locks, hinges, latches, automatic closing mechanisms and more to keep doors functioning well
Fixture Replacement: Moving and replacing furniture and plumbing fixtures
Wall Treatments: Painting, replacing vinyl, repairing walls and ceilings including plaster/mud
Collaboration: Work alongside and under the direction of Hotel Management, Engineering, and contractors

Project Management: Balance rooms available, product arrival times, guest traffic, product curing times, noise levels, and more to maximize efficiency and minimize guest impact

Previous experience in these areas is ideal for this role.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform novice Electrical, Plumbing, Mechanical, Carpentry, Appliance, and/or Furniture repair tasks to keep building and equipment operating efficiently
Perform periodic preventive maintenance as indicated by inspections, department assignment calendars, or computer program organizing maintenance needs
Conduct inspections during shifts according to checklists to verify proper functioning of equipment and address maintenance needs proactively.
Participate and engage in training to stay informed and refreshed on processes and proper use of equipment available.
Provide excellent guest service by responding to calls for maintenance quickly and courteously.
Recommend to Front Office or MOD when a repair cannot be adequately performed and guest move or other recovery must be coordinated
Follow all safety guidelines and attend regular safety trainings
Share suggestions and sample new products and tools continually to improve Engineering processes
Perform basic grounds keeping, including snow removal, sprinkler repair, mowing, planting, spraying, and other tasks to keep landscaping and outdoor facilities ready for guest use and enjoyment
Prepare one-time electrical and water connections for events or temporary stations required by clients and instructed by Front Office or Sales departments
Other duties as-assigned

Familiar with usage of checklists and computer-based programs to track work order assignment and completion

Strive to build and maintain good and productive relationships with all team members across departments
Able to prioritize and complete work assignments without constant supervision and direction, using problem solving skills to find best solutions for various and changing problems

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS
Previous experience in a Maintenance, Contractor, or similar industry strongly preferred, but willing to train the right candidate
Ability to work a flexible schedule, including shifts longer than 8 hours
