Description

Under the direction of a physician, administers sleep testing in order for the physician to diagnose the type and extent of patient's sleep disorders. Operates specialized equipment that assists in the analysis and diagnosis of sleep disorders. Performs routine patient assessments and PSG hook-ups for patient testing, monitor patients throughout the evening, scores sleep records, documents other test results, and collects and transmits biological specimens for analysis (if applicable). Performs a variety of tasks. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals, performs a variety of tasks and works under the general supervision of the director or manager. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager.

Requirements

Job requirements:

High school diploma or GED, CPR certification (BLS training), tolerance to work 10-11 hour night shifts, basic computer skills (data entry), bi-lingual preferred. Must have completed sleep board exams for national credentials. Must be organized, able to work unsupervised and be dedicated to sleep.

Preferred skills:

Registered Sleep Technician with 3 year experience. Medical terminology knowledge with prior clinical experience (3+ yr), any medical licensure will be considered.
