Job Description: Full-time, Days Sign on Bonus offered up to $30,000 for qualified individuals 3F is a 24-bed telemetry unit certified by The Joint Commission as a Comprehensive Stroke Center. Offering the latest, innovative care for the stroke population, setting the hospital's treatment of stroke patients among the best in the nation. 3F specializes in Ischemic Stroke Patients, Post-acute Hemorrhagic Stroke Patients, continuous EEG, and provides care to stable cardiac patients requiring telemetry monitoring. Patients are often admitted from the emergency department, transfers within the hospital, direct admissions from outlying facilities and physician's offices. 3F offers comprehensive services to assist with stroke recovery and provide great quality outcomes to all patients with a multidisciplinary approach. The Registered Nurse implements professional nursing practice centered on the patient as a whole person and the creation of a caring environment focused on healing and wellness. S/he honors patients' mind, body and spirit by respecting human dignity and the uniqueness of each individual. Nursing practices are based on evidence and current research as well as hospital and department policies and procedures, regulatory standards and professional guidelines. Clinical decision-making incorporates all four phases of the nursing process, critical thinking and creativity. Nursing excellence is promoted through helping relationships among nursing staff and across other disciplines. The Registered Nurse is an exemplar for compassion, acceptance, respect and empathy honoring nursing as a distinct discipline and supporting an environment focused on healing and wellness. As a clinical nurse, this individual spends majority of his/her time (> 50%) coordinating, ensuring and providing direct patient care activities on the unit through: provision of nursing rounds, assessments and treatments; facilitating admission, transfer and discharge activities; provision of patient and family-centered education; care coordination and individualized treatment planning as applicable, etc. Current RN licensure or work permit in Kentucky Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from an accredited college or university. In lieu of a Bachelor's Degree, an Associate's Degree in Nursing will be acceptable for initial hire with the understanding that the individual must be enrolled within 12 months in a Bachelors Degree program and must have achieved the degree within 5 years.
