Responsibilities Demonstrates knowledge of conditions, diseases, and treatment therapies for unit specific patient populations. Continually assesses patients' physical, psychological, social, and educational needs to determine levels and types of care. Implements, prioritizes, and maintains plan of care based on acuity level, identified needs, physician orders, patient problems, goals, and interventions. Effectively evaluates the outcomes of interventions and implements necessary changes to plan of care. Delegates and supervises patient care activities that may safely be performed by others, consistent with educational preparation and that do not conflict with the Oklahoma Nursing Practice Act. Administers medications and treatments effectively and skillfully (See Unit Specific Competency Validation Checklist). Demonstrates safe and effective use of equipment. (See Unit Specific Competency Validation Checklist) Demonstrates competency in managing potential patient risks, i.e., falls, need for restraints, isolation (See Unit Specific Competency Validation Checklist). Collaborates with other health professionals in the management of health care. Documents assessments, interventions (including use of supplies and equipment),education, and outcomes of care accurately, objectively, and timely. Demonstrates knowledge of patient rights. Serves as an advocate for patient/families in regard to decisions affecting the plan of care. Has knowledge of process for resolution of ethical dilemmas. Reviews and checks all orders during and before the end of the shift to assure the orders have been released and acknowledged. Abides by employee performance standards and behaviors. Qualifications Job Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent required. ADN or BSN Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing with a current license as a Registered Nurse in the State of Oklahoma and possess a current BLS certification. Preferred Job Requirements: ACLS preferred. One or more current years of acute care experience as a registered nurse preferred.
