Overview Purpose Statement/Position Summary The main PACU has 20 beds and 2 isolation rooms, and the Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) PACU has 9 beds. The Registered Nurse will care for patients across all medical specialties. The Registered Nurse conducts patient assessments, participates in the development of the plan of care, implements and evaluates care according to patient specific age and/or developmental needs. The Registered Nurse will provide family centered care for a diverse patient population. Collaborates with other health care team members in the delivery of care. Employees will follow applicable policies and procedures in handling supplies, pharmaceuticals, and equipment. Minimum Qualifications/Work Experience 1 Year RN experience required, at least 5 years of acute care Pediatric nursing experience and 2+ years of PACU experience preferred. Broad knowledge of patient care principles and equipment used in the perioperative setting. Ability to assess the effectiveness of patient care and interventions; maintain a calm demeanor and assist in crises and emergencies; prioritize tasks for complex patient care; communicate tactfully, professionally and effectively, verbally and in writing. Education/Licensure/Certification BSN required. Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of California and current American Heart Association CPR BLS and PALS certification required. Hours: 12-hour shifts, with starting times between 5:00 am-11:00 am, with one weekend and on call shifts plus 3-5 weeknight on call shifts in a 6-week period. Pay Scale Information USD $89,440.00 - USD $154,284.00 CHLA values the contribution each Team Member brings to our organization. Final determination of a successful candidate's starting pay will vary based on a number of factors, including, but not limited to education and experience within the job or the industry. The pay scale listed for this position is generally for candidates that meet the specified qualifications and requirements listed on this specific job description. Additional pay may be determined for those candidates that exceed these specified qualifications and requirements.
