APN Healthcare Solutions is urgently hiring multiple Registered Nurses M/S for our client in Portland, OR for a 13 week contract with a high possibility of extension.

Position Title: RN Med/Surg
Pay Rate:$57-$61/hr
Work Location: Choose from Portland, Oregon City, Medford, or Newberg
Shift : Days or Nights
Hours/day: 12hrs
Contract Duration:13 weeks
License Requirement: RN Oregon
Certification Requirement: BLS, ACLS

Job Description

Title: Registered Nurse (RN) - Medical/Surgical Unit

Position Overview:
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Medical/Surgical Unit. As an RN on our team, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality nursing care to patients with a diverse range of medical and surgical conditions. Your expertise in assessing patients, administering medications, coordinating care, and educating patients and their families will contribute significantly to our mission of delivering exceptional healthcare services.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients admitted to the Medical/Surgical Unit, including assessment, monitoring, and intervention to address their healthcare needs.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurse practitioners, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans based on the patients' medical diagnoses, treatment goals, and preferences.
  • Administer medications, treatments, and procedures safely and accurately, following established protocols and medication administration guidelines.
  • Monitor patients' vital signs, symptoms, and laboratory results, identifying changes in their condition and responding promptly to prevent complications or deterioration.
  • Assist with diagnostic procedures, surgical interventions, and therapeutic interventions as needed, ensuring patient safety and comfort throughout the process.
  • Educate patients and their families about their medical conditions, treatment options, self-care techniques, and discharge instructions to promote understanding and compliance with the care plan.
  • Coordinate interdisciplinary care activities, including consultations, referrals, and transfers to other healthcare facilities or specialty services as appropriate.
  • Document patient assessments, interventions, outcomes, and education provided in a timely and accurate manner, maintaining comprehensive electronic health records (EHR) in compliance with regulatory requirements and organizational policies.
  • Foster a supportive and therapeutic environment for patients and their families, demonstrating empathy, active listening, and effective communication skills in all interactions.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, evidence-based practice projects, and interdisciplinary team meetings to enhance patient care outcomes and clinical practice standards.
