The staff RN utilizes the nursing process by use of technology, therapeutic intervention, evidence-based practice and coordination of care with other health team members. Your day As a Lead OR Nurse you know that every day is different, which is why you need to know how to: Attend Surgical Specialty Sub-Section Meetings Collaborate with surgeons, educator, and Lead Techs in introducing new technology and appropriate scheduling of cases Communicate specialty needs with RN Clinical Supervisor as needed Collaborate with Lead Tech in problem solving and planning for specialty needs as appropriate. Review scheduled cases for surgical specialty to determine if necessary resources will be available, and if adequate information is available for planning patient care. Obtain info from the surgeon as needed re: positioning, supplies, medications and implants for scheduled cases in collaboration with Lead Tech, and communicates availability to appropriate staff. Pass case info on to staff assigned to cases as appropriate. Participates in orientation of staff to surgical specialty Functions as a clinical resource in surgical specialty for staff Your experience We hire people, not resumes. But we also expect excellence, which is why we require: At least 1 year RN experience in the OR ASN from an accredited program BSN from an accredited program required within 48 months of hire Current RN license to practice nursing in the state of Montana Current BLS certification Obtain CNOR and ACLS within two years of hire Your next move Now that you know more about being a Lead Operating Room - OR Nurse on our team we hope you'll join us. Physical Requirements: Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies Frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitors that require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately, particularly during emergency situations Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer use and typing for documenting patient care, accessing needed information, medication preparation, etc Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients. Will also bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment. Typically includes items of varying weights, up to and including heavy items Need to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment.
