White Oaks Nursing and Rehab - RESPONSIBILITIES OF DAILY FUNCTIONING

1. Assesses critical residents as needed.

2. Coordinates resident care with Attending and Consulting Physicians as needed and tracks consultations.

3. Monitors all nursing staff in the course of their job duties ensuring that facility policies and procedures are being followed.

4. Evaluates nursing staff performance and provides feedback to the DNS and ADNS.

5. Completes performance reviews of nursing staff in conjunction with the DNS/ADNS.

6. Responds to all alarms; Code Red (fire), Code D (disaster), Code G (armed intruder), and Code Green (facility manpower required), as well as resident alarms in room, bathroom, bed, and wheelchair.

7. Receives critical lab results.

8. Intervenes with resident/visitor/staff complaints.

9. Manages all narcotic subscriptions and ensures prompt delivery to the pharmacy. Accepts delivery of controlled substances from pharmacy.

10. Fills out all Incident/Accident reports for residents/visitors and staff.

11. Checks AED machines and MDR suction machine to ensure in good working order.

12. Monitors resident in the MDR during mealtimes as applicable

13. Ensures that residents are free from abuse, mistreatment, and neglect.

14. Participates in facility surveys and Quality Assurance programs.

15. Ensures Regulatory Compliance.

16. Maintains all infection control protocols and reinforces protocols with staff. Monitors residents in isolation.

17. Collaborates, cooperates, and communicates with other health care providers to ensure quality and continuity of care.

18. Ensure residents' rights are protected and is an advocate for the resident.

19. Observes and practices all facility policies and protocols.

20. Attends meetings and in-services as assigned.

21. Maintains resident confidentiality/HIPPA. Ensures that documentation/items with resident vital information will be protected.

22. Maintains nursing supplies in a cost-efficient manner to avoid waste, i.e., ABT, Emergency or IV boxes.

23. Administers skilled nursing interventions such as, but not limited to; IV catherization.

24. Assists in answering the call bells as needed.

25. Performs audits as directed by the DNS/ADNS.

26. Performs all other duties as directed by the Administrator, DNS and/or ADNS.

27. At the end of every shift runs reports for CNA task documentation, MAR's, TAR's and medication follow up to ensure documentation compliance.

28. Reinforce timely completion of Careplan and assessments by unit nurse before the end of each scheduled shift.

29. Ensure all diagnostic results are addressed by unit staff prior to the end of every shift.

30. Ensure documentation for all administered narcotics are in compliance prior to the end of shift.

31. Ensure documentation of refrigerator temperature on all units prior to the end of every shift.
