Job Title: Registered Nurse - Oncology Location: 2131 South, 17th Street, Wilmington, NC 28401.
Role Specific Responsibilities Include: - Will work with oncology as well as medical surgical patients
- Target Ratios: 1:6-7
- Shift: NIGHTS; 36 or 48 hours. If 48 then no OT billed until after 48. 13 weeks accepted
- RTO: 7 days MAX; NO RTO 4/29-5/17/24
- Call Requirement: Call required if called off on a prescheduled shift.
- Float Requirement: Floating required to similar units and alternate care locations with inpatients holding, such as inpatient holding in the ED, or any alternate medical patient care location.
- Weekend Requirement: EVERY OTHER WEEKEND REQUIRED.
- Contract staff will be assigned and expected to work a Storm Team and/or Hurricane Team. Contract staff may be required to report to work during a catastrophic event, mass casualty or disaster. Consolidation to the Centralized Office mid contract may occur and the contract staff may be preassigned to units as needed.
- PATIENT DIAGNOSES: High Acuity Adults and Geriatrics.
- Contract staff may be required to care for patients with COVID.
- Daily Census 42.
- General medical-surgical diagnosis primary patient population. Administration of chemotherapy/biotherapy -IV, PO, or injection. DKA - Insulin drip, AKI, Sepsis, Cancer, Septic shock, Pain, OD, Malignant Neoplasms, ARF, Encephalopathy, FTT, Diabetic foot ulcers, Heparin drips.
- Required Qualifications:
- Minimum Years of Experience: 1 year
- Traveler Experience: Will accept 1st time travelers.
- Administer chemo. Experience in an inpatient setting is required.
- Chemotherapy administration certification is required prior to start.
- BLS, ACLS
- RN License - NC or Compact License required.
- Charting Exp. Required - PYXIS, EPIC, SBAR
