Job Responsibilities
  • Monitor and provide daily oversight of resident care in accordance with facility and state standards through supervising and directing nurse staff
  • Report to the Director of nursing to ensure excellence in quality care
  • Promote patient independence by establishing goals
  • Educate residents and their loved ones to understand condition, medications, and self-care skills
  • Resolve patient problems and needs by utilizing multidisciplinary team strategies
  • Protect residents and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols, medication administration and storage procedures, and controlled substance regulations
  • Document resident care services by charting in patient and department records
  • Promote continuity among nursing teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs
  • Ensure nursing supply and equipment maintenance needs are met
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending workshops and reviewing publications
Qualifications & Key Characteristics
  • Must possess a Registered Nursing (RN) license within the state of Pennsylvania.
  • 1 year as a nurse in a supervisory capacity
  • Approximately 2 years' experience in a long-term care
  • Ability to establish a compassionate environment by providing emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patients, friends, and families
  • Possess effective team problem solving and communication skills
