Position: Registered Nurse (RN)

Location: Ute Mountain Ute Health Center (UMUHC), Towaoc, CO

Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join our healthcare team at the Ute Mountain Ute Health Center (UMUHC) in Towaoc, CO. The RN will play a crucial role in providing patient-centered care, collaborating with interdisciplinary teams, and promoting health education within the Ute Mountain Ute Tribe community. The ideal candidate will demonstrate clinical expertise, strong communication skills, and cultural competence.

Responsibilities:
  • Deliver comprehensive nursing care to patients across the lifespan, adhering to established standards and protocols.
  • Assess patient needs, develop individualized care plans, and implement interventions to achieve optimal health outcomes.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, ensuring accurate documentation and patient education.
  • Collaborate with healthcare team members, including physicians, nurse practitioners, and other allied health professionals, to provide holistic care.
  • Monitor patient progress, detect changes in condition, and initiate appropriate interventions in a timely manner.
  • Provide health education to patients and their families, promoting disease prevention, self-care, and overall wellness.
  • Assist in the coordination of patient referrals, appointments, and follow-up care.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records and documentation in accordance with HIPAA and organizational policies.
  • Adhere to infection control practices, safety protocols, and regulatory guidelines.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and safety.
  • Demonstrate cultural competence and sensitivity in interactions with diverse patients and families.
Qualifications:
  • Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Colorado.
  • BSN degree from an accredited nursing program (preferred) or Associate's degree in Nursing with relevant experience.
  • CPR/BLS certification required; additional certifications (ACLS, PALS, etc.) preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of clinical nursing experience in a healthcare setting.
  • Proficient computer skills for documentation and communication purposes.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team and adapt to a fast-paced environment.
  • Cultural competence and the ability to provide care that respects the cultural values and practices of the Ute Mountain Ute Tribe community.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
