  • In this position, you will provide direct nursing services to children/and or adults who are experiencing serious and chronic mental disorders.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

    • Provide symptom and medication assessment, evaluation, education, and management to consumers with persistent mental illness. This includes consultation with and communication between Psychiatrist/ARNP, PCP, hospital, community providers, consumer, and consumer's family/guardian for management of care.
    • Provide nursing duties related to assigned team Psychiatrist/ARNP appointments such as processing & signing medication orders and taking/returning medication related telephone calls from the prescriber's consumer.
    • Coordinate with Psychiatrist/ARNP to schedule consumer appointments as needed.
    • Provide follow-up nursing appointment availability for consumers between psychiatrist/ARNP appointments.
    • Administer medications to consumers as directed by FBH Psychiatrist/ARNP.
    • Ensure consumer access to medications through timely refills, by obtaining sample medications per order, by following policy and procedures related to pharmaceutical company patient assistance programs, and by appropriate use of FBH discretionary funds for medications.
    • Ensure that pertinent medication related information is conveyed to hospital staff in the event of consumer hospitalization.
    • Provide face-to-face meeting with consumers within three working days of hospital discharge.
    • Provide consumer referrals to other departments and community providers as indicated.
    • Participate in the maintenance of supplies for and security of the Medication Room by following FBH Psychiatric Services policy and procedures.
    • Assist in development and delivery of staff/and or consumer education in the form of group classes or trainings.
    • Meet minimum direct service percent time as defined by management.
    • Demonstrate positive leadership and goal-oriented productivity.
    • Participate in peer review, supervision, in-house educational and administrative meetings as indicated.
    • Maintain and enhance customer service to ensure that both external and internal customers of FBH have a positive experience of FBH.
    • Comply with all state WAC requirements and FBH policies and procedures.
    • Perform FBH charting requirements, correspondence, SALs and other paperwork in a complete and timely manner.
    • Establish and maintain a good working relationship with all FBH staff.

    QUALIFIED CANIDATES WILL HAVE:

    REQUIRED:
    • RN licensed in the state of Washington.
    • Experience working in a psychiatric setting preferred.
    • Demonstrated expertise or training in assessment, evaluation or triage skills.
    • Working knowledge of psychotropic medications, their uses and side effects.

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
    • Ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
    • Effective communication and interpersonal skills are needed.
    • Must have reliable transportation, insurance and an active drivers' license and be willing to use personal vehicle in the course of work.

    Work is generally performed in an office setting, which may involve sitting and use of computers for four to eight hours per day.
    • May be required to lift 10 - 20 pounds.
    • Work may be performed out of office and travel may be needed to outside areas.
    • Blood-borne Pathogen Category I - Chance of exposure to blood-borne pathogens.

PAY RANGE (Salary/Exempt): $82,386.88 - $100,370.85

All pay is based on longevity at Frontier Behavioral Health; thus, the starting pay is $82,386.88 annually.
