Primary Care consisting of Family Medicine and Internal Medicine
Age ranges: Fam Med - Birth to Geriatric; Internal Med - 18+ to Geriatric
Primary care deals with all illnesses to include but not limited to: chronic pain, diabetes, thyroid, weight/weight loss, URI, UTI, annual physicals, Medicare physicals, well-woman exams, dizziness, shortness of breath, chest pain, depression, anxiety, etc.
Some providers/doctors perform procedures such as IUD removal/insertion, Nexplanon insertion/removals, toenail removals, I & D, and a few other 'minor' procedures.
For the procedures they may have to be a chaperone the provider and, in some instances, hand the providers instruments or supplies they may use.
Otherwise, they would just have to set up the room for the procedure being performed
