- Shall execute scrub and circulating duties to ensure optimal patient care during procedures.
- Shall demonstrate competency in monitoring patients undergoing conscious sedation.
- Shall ensure a comprehensive understanding of the patient's background.
- Shall formulate and document a detailed plan of care in the patient's medical record.
- The RN ICU verifies the transcription of physician's orders and ensures accurate documentation in the inpatient medical record; the RN carries out prescribed orders.
- Shall ensure a seamless flow of information for optimal patient care.
- Shall monitor and documents patient responses to the treatments.
- Shall respond effectively in emergencies and during surgical/diagnostic procedures.
- The RN ICU ensures comprehensive patient support in critical care settings.
RN ICU - REQUIREMENTS - Candidate must possess a bachelor's degree in nursing and eligibility under the Superior Academic Achievement provision -OR- Possess of a bachelor's degree in nursing and at least one full year of professional nursing experience-OR- Possess a diploma or associate degree in professional nursing.
- Must possess a current, valid, unrestricted nursing license in a state, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a Territory of the United States.
- Must have a minimum of 12 months experience in an intensive care environment during the last 36 months.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) as approved by the American Heart Association (AHA) is mandatory for all specialties.
- Evidence of current immunizations is required.
