Sentara Norfolk General Hospital, a Level 1 Trauma Center, located in Norfolk, Virginia is hiring for a Registered Nurse for our Vascular and Interventional Recovery area.

Department/Position Overview:
Short Stay ICU (SSI) is a 4-6 bed short stay ICU who partners with the Vascular and Interventional Center and Main OR to care for lower acuity ICU patients spending less than 23 hours in the ICU prior to discharging home or transitioning to the next level of care.
Nurses in this unit will be cross trained to care for interventional radiology, neuro, and vascular procedures and OR patients.

Job Summary

The Registered Nursing (RN) is responsible to perform a competent level of nursing care as demonstrated by the critical thinking model known as the nursing process. The standards of practice (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care- teaching and health promotion and evaluation) along with the standards of professional performance (ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence- based practice /nursing research, quality, evaluation, resource utilization, and environmental health) encompass the actions and foundation of professional nursing. The RN possesses clinical knowledge and skills to meet standards as required by specific clinical areas.

Qualifications:

N-2YR - RN-Associate's Degree (Required), N-3YR - RN-Diploma (Non-degree) (Required), N-4YR - RN-Bachelor's Level Degree (Required), N-6YR - RN-Master's Level Degree (Required), N-DN - RN-Doctorate Level Degree
