Position Summary As the Registered Nurse (RN), you will provide all duties of nursing services. It is required to follow Nursing policy and procedures regarding detoxification and other Nursing Services. It is also required to carry out physical's orders and protocols as directed. In this role, we participate in Performance Improvement and Infection Control activities as indicated. This position is responsible for helping to coordinate and deliver quality medical care in partnership with therapists and medical providers. Supervisory Responsibilities: N/A Duties/Responsibilities: Collect and prepare samples as ordered for cultures and sensitivity Assist Medical Doctor with physical examinations Develops, implements and maintains current nursing care plans for assigned patients Inventory supplies emergency box, first aid kit and medications and notify nursing coordinator/manager of needs Accurate implementation of physician orders Patient teaching as indicated by special needs, demonstrated lack of knowledge and assessments Thorough and accurate documentation of patient care, procedures, complications and progress in medical record using the problem-oriented record system Orient patients to program and phases of treatment Prepare and deliver lectures and in-services as requested within the scope of knowledge and training Maintains patient safety at all times Help provide and maintain therapeutic medium for patients Actively participates in treatment team and staff meetings Provides competent nursing care of all patients within the boundaries of licensure Complete admission process including nursing assessment Monitors for signs and symptoms of withdrawal by completing ASE scale, monitoring vital signs and mental status Assess physical complaints and problems making any necessary referrals to Medical Director and/or Emergency Room Dispense medications as ordered to patients in detox and assess for untoward effects and effectiveness of prescribed medications Be familiar with actions, side effects and dosage of all prescribed medication Supervise self-administration of medications Maintain accurate records of Scheduled Drugs Demonstrate good nursing judgement in dispensing ordered prescribed and over-the-counter medication Perform veni-punctures using acceptable technique with proper preparation of sample as indicated by test ordered Obtain urine samples for drug screens as ordered Perform in-house drug screens using the ADX analyzer and routine maintenance procedures All duties and responsibilities as assigned within boundaries of licensure, knowledge, training, working conditions and physical demands Required Skills/Abilities: Two years of experience in chemical dependency treatment Experience with adults and adolescents preferred Practice the Board of Nursing Standards of Practice Know and abide by the general provisions of 42 CFR Part 2, "Confidentiality of Drug and Alcohol Abuse Patient Records", and 45 CFR "Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act". This position has unrestricted access to patient identifying and patient health information Education: Graduate of approved School of Nursing, current State license (Registered Nurse (RN)-preferred) CPR certified Physical Requirements: Must be able to continuously sit from to 4 hours per 8 hour shift Must be able to see 20/40 corrected in each eye and hear (hearing aid acceptable) Must be capable of administering First Aid and CPR Walk within the facility approximately First Aid and CPR Must be emotionally and physically capable of functioning under stressful situations If recovering, must have two-year continuous abstinence We Offer: A competitive salary plus benefits Generous Paid Time Off Opportunities to provide care through a variety of specialty treatment program On-going training in different methods of therapy including DBT, MI, Trauma Informed, and others Supervision and Licensure support Professional growth opportunities Night-shift
