Virtus Healthcare Staffing Seeks Clinical Educator for Regional Medical Center in Los Alamos, NM
Virtus Healthcare Staffing is partnering with a regional medical center in Los Alamos, NM to find a passionate and experienced Clinical Educator. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled educator to play a vital role in developing and delivering high-quality educational programs for the nursing staff.
Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and evaluate educational programs for nurses across various specialties to enhance their knowledge, skills, and competencies.
- Utilize a variety of teaching methods, including lectures, workshops, simulations, and online learning modules.
- Facilitate skill development through hands-on training and provide ongoing mentorship to nurses.
- Stay up-to-date on current healthcare trends, best practices, and evidence-based guidelines to ensure the content of educational programs is relevant and effective.
- Collaborate with clinical leaders and staff to identify educational needs and develop programs that address those needs.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of educational programs and make adjustments as needed.
- Maintain accurate documentation of all educational activities and learner outcomes.
- Serve as a resource for nurses on clinical practice and professional development.
- Precept new nurses and orient them to the hospital setting and departmental policies.
- May assist with staff competency assessments and skills validation.
Qualifications:
- Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) required. Master's Degree in Nursing (MSN) preferred.
- Current RN licensure in the state of New Mexico required.
- Minimum two (2) years of recent clinical nursing experience in a hospital setting preferred.
- Must maintain instructor status in Basic Life Support (BLS) upon hire.
- Must be able to maintain instructor status in at least two of the following within one year of hire: Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), or AWHONN Basic Newborn Care (BNC).
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience as a clinical educator or experience developing and delivering educational programs in a healthcare setting.
- Strong instructional skills and experience with a variety of teaching methods.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Commitment to patient safety and quality care.
- Proficiency in computer applications, including learning management systems (LMS).
