Registered Nurse

Hours: On call positions; days and hours to be determined. Psychiatric Registered Nurse to provide nursing services for the Crisis Center. The Center is a 24-hour, 15 bed crisis assessment/stabilization unit for adults who are being detained for evaluation under Nebraska's Mental Health Commitment Act. Involves an initial and ongoing assessment of clients presenting problems/needs and, with the physician, implements a care plan. Will perform therapeutic nursing interventions including crisis intervention, administration of psychotropic medication and patient monitoring, initiation of proper procedures for suicide risk, substance abuse/dependence and restraint/seclusion. Regular professional communication within a multi-disciplinary team and outside agencies is essential. This position deals with the interface of legal and mental health systems in an inpatient environment. Qualifications: Graduation from a school of nursing accredited by the National League of Nursing with a valid Diploma of Nursing. Necessary Special Requirement: Valid license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Nebraska.
