Bartlett Regional Hospital is searching for a Registered Nurses to join our Wildflower Court team.

Please note: In lieu of fringe benefits, PRN employees receive an hourly differential in addition to their hourly rate between 10% and 25% depending on position level.

Job Summary:

Registered Nurses can independently plan and implement routine nursing care in predictable situations using standards and knowledge obtained during education and preceptorship. RNs begin to assume leadership responsibility and need minimal supervision. An RN has the ability to use accurate, clear, and concise oral and written communication. RNs will work as a team and maintain effective working relationships, use critical thinking skills, analyze, and communicate findings effectively. Incumbents require a basic computer literacy and the ability to effectively learn new software programs is required, as well as the ability to efficiently operate a variety of automated office equipment such as print/copy/scan/fax machines/calculators/etc.

Minimum Qualifications for the Job:

  • Education: Graduate of an accredited professional nursing program. BSN preferred.
  • License(s): Current State of Alaska Registered Nurse (RN) license.
  • Certification(s): Basic Life Support (BLS): All nursing departments within 30 days of hire, TEAM/BERT within 90 days of hire.
  • Experience(s):
    • RN II: Advancement from an RN I or at least one (1) year, continuous experience in a comparable patient care setting. RNs must remain at this level for a minimum of one year before applying for advancement. Must float to one other unit within one (1) year of appointment.
    • RN III: Three (3) years of current clinical experience (current indicates experience within the last five years from time of application) or one (1) year of experience as a Bartlett RN II.

Internal Hires: Pay rate will be determined based on applicable personnel rule or union contract terms.

Originally known as St. Ann s Hospital, the hospital opened in 1886 and was operated by the Sisters of St. Ann until the 1960s. In 1965, the hospital s operations were turned over to the City and Borough of Juneau, and a new facility was built at the hospital s present location on Hospital Drive.

Bartlett Regional Hospital is licensed for a total of 57 inpatient beds and 16 residential substance-abuse treatment facility beds in the Rainforest Recovery Center. The hospital serves a 15,000-square-mile region in the northern part of Southeast Alaska. Approximately 55,000 people reside in our service area, with most communities inaccessible by road.
