Job Summary The RN/GN assesses, plans, implements, reassesses, and records patient care in accordance with the interdisciplinary treatment plan. Must possess a thorough knowledge of age-specific needs, care of mentally ill persons, Chapter 5100 of the M. H. Procedures Act, CSM and JCAHO standards, voluntary, involuntary, patient rights and confidentiality. He/she must be proficient in therapeutic 1:1's, leading or co-leading therapeutic groups/activities and providing patient/family teaching. As an active member of the interdisciplinary treatment team where the RN/GN is expected to work collaboratively with physicians and other disciplines to develop, implement and revise each patient's interdisciplinary treatment and discharge plan. The RN/GN directs and assists all other disciplines and provides leadership to ensure professional nursing standards are maintained. Must possess the ability to function as the charge nurse as assigned. Job Specification Minimum Education Required A graduate of an accredited nursing program. Minimum Experience Required Prefer 1 year med/surgical, and/or 1 year geriatric experience also 1-year behavioral health experience, preferred. Licensure/Certification Required A current license as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania or eligible nurse must pass their nursing boards within 6 months of hire. Must be BLS certified required (or obtain within one month of hire). Skills
•  A commitment to service excellence and performance improvement. Knowledge of medical/surgical and psychiatric nursing to effectively assess and provide direct patient care, observe and formulate patient plan of care, document outcomes and serve as a clinical resource. Knowledge of Chapter 5100 of the M.H. Procedures Act, CSM, and JCAHO standards. Excellent writing, computer and interpersonal skills.
