Phoenix Center for Rehabilitation and Pediatrics - The Phoenix Center for Rehabilitation & Pediatrics is a skilled nursing facility caring for both the geriatrics and pediatrics populations. We are currently seeking Registered Nurses for our Pediatric Unit for 7am-7pm and/or 7pm-7am shifts.

Responsibilities as a Registered Nurse:
  • Be able to handle complexity of a Pediatrics unit
  • Ability to care for patients with NGT, GT, Tracheostomy, wound care, and temperature instability
  • Be able to care for patients on a ventilator machine
  • Play an active role in direct resident assessment and care
  • Supervise and coordinate nursing personnel in providing direct resident care in adherence to State and Federal regulations
  • Dispense medication and perform treatments in accordance with Phoenix Center policies and procedures
  • Formulate individualized nursing care plans utilizing the nursing process
  • Assess each resident daily and implement a change in the course of action as needed
  • Assist the physician on rounds and ensure that pertinent information is communicated to and from him/her and orders are taken correctly
  • Participate in the training and supervision of nursing personnel
  • Assists with implementation of facility's Quality Improvement Program
  • Assume responsibility for the identification of potential safety hazards and for the identification of non-compliance with facility guidelines
  • Maintain accurate resident care records and documents
  • Attend and participate in the resident care meetings, staff meetings, and in-services
  • Take an active role in teaching and guidance to residents, families, and staff
  • Assure that each resident's attending physician and family, or responsible party are promptly notified of any significant change in the resident's health condition
  • Effectively utilize the general principles of leadership and supervision
  • Manage conflict through effective problem-solving and communication skills
  • Act calmly and efficiently in handling emergency situations
Requirements for a Registered Nurse:
  • Completion of an accredited school of practical nursing
  • Current license as a Registered Nurse in the State of New Jersey
