Apply today. A DAY IN THE LIFE AS A REGISTERED NURSE IN A CORRECTIONAL FACILITY As one of our Registered Nurses, you are the kind of person that needs to be needed and, boy, are you ever needed here. QUALIFICATIONS FOR A REGISTERED NURSE IN CORRECTIONS At least 21 years old Graduation from an accredited nursing college or university with a minimum of an Associate's Degree in nursing. Registered Nurse license CPR certification Must pass the Davis County Sheriff's Office background investigation, including a pre-employment eye detect examination. Preference will be given to applicants with one or more years of experience in ER/Trauma nursing, corrections nursing, or with a paramedic or EMT background. Preference will be given to applicants with a Bachelor's degree in nursing. WORK SCHEDULE Schedules can vary and include overtime. This is a 24/7 operation including nights and weekends. Generally schedules are as follows: One 13-hour shift and two 13.5-hour shifts, working 3 days on and 4 days off per week. The hours are 5:00 am to 6:00 pm or 6:00 pm to 5:00 am.
