Degree from Foreign Nursing School: Official certification from the Commission on Graduates of Foreign Nursing Schools is required for individuals who graduated from foreign nursing schools. In addition, to the Basic Requirements, you must also meet the Minimum Qualifications stated below- MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks: GS-5: Possess a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing with no experience; OR Possess a diploma or associate degree in professional nursing AND one full year of professional nursing experience. This experience includes: implementing a plan of care for assigned patients; providing nursing interventions based on developed plan of care; and evaluating the effectiveness of the plan of care. GS-7: Possess a bachelor's degree in Nursing AND have eligibility under the Superior Academic Achievement (S.A.A.) provision; OR Possession of a bachelor's degree in Nursing AND at least one full year of professional nursing experience (equivalent to the GS-5 grade level.) Examples of experience include: developing, implementing, and evaluating a plan of care for assigned patients, assisting medical providers with procedures; setting up a sterile field; providing patient discharge instructions; monitoring vital signs and body system devices such as a cardiac monitor or pulse oximeter for sudden changes in conditions; OR Possession of a diploma or associate degree in professional nursing AND two full years of professional nursing experience.
