Position: Registered Nurse Location: Y5 Hematology/Oncology Schedule: 36 hours (Nights/Rotating Weekends and holidays) ABOUT THE Medical Surgical/Yawkey 5 DEPARTMENT AT BOSTON MEDICAL CENTER: Yawkey 5 Hematology/Oncology is a 22 bed inpatient unit. Nurses on this unit learn and maintain competencies in various medical hematologic and oncologic disease processes and develop specialty knowledge and skills related to chemotherapy/immunotherapy, stem cell transplant, CAR-T Therapy, and Gene Therapy for Sickle Cell Disease. POSITION SUMMARY: As an RN in the Medical Surgical, you will play an integral role in delivering exceptional care. Using our patient-centered care model you will be uplifted by a supportive nursing organization, and will be able to deliver the excellent care to your patients that they deserve. NursingMS - Medical Surgical Y5 is a specialty hematology/oncology unit. Nurses working on this unit will develop expertise in various disease processes and specialty programs such as CAR-T Therapy, Stem Cell Transplant, and Gene Therapy. Prior Oncology experience and chemotherapy certification is strongly preferred; all nurses are expected to achieve and maintain chemotherapy competence within 6-8 months of hire.
