Job DescriptionThe Registered Nurse - Healthy Lives PRN Premium participates in the health screening process of Healthy Lives, performing various tasks at onsite locations including registration, clinical measurements and/or blood work.
ResponsibilitiesHealth Screening Requirements
- Attends Healthy Lives health screening events at onsite locations providing exceptional care to each member.
- Performs health screening registration protocols ensure confidentiality of member information is maintained.
- Performs clinical measurement tasks in the biometric station within the policies of Healthy Lives, including blood pressure, height, weight, BMI, waist circumference, smokerlyzer screening, determination of weight goal if appropriate.
- Performs venipuncture and prepares lab specimens appropriately for transport to outreach lab as needed.
- Performs singlestick technique appropriately and documents appropriate laboratory levels in the event that outreach lab is unavailable.
- Correctly and completely documents member information into electronic system ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
- Notifies clinical lead when necessary for supervisory review of member clinical data that is abnormal.
- Maintains patient confidentiality and complies with HIPAA guidelines.
- Adheres to infection control and safety guidelines and demonstrates ability to perform tasks as outlined above.
Member Education
- Instructs members on the annual reward information, wellness programs, educational offerings and accessing the Healthy Lives member portal
- Instructs members on weight loss goals and screening results as appropriate.
Health Screening Organization and Planning
- Assists with pre-screening clinical organization including testing of medical equipment and supplies and scheduling of staff
- Assist with training of all clinical staff and maintaining of clinical competency records
- Assist with policy and procedure maintanence for clinical outreach
- Conducts pre and post screening quality checks to ensure processes are completed timely and effectively.
- May serves as clinical leader during screening event.
QualificationsExperience:
- 2 years of clinical experience
Education:
- RN - Diploma, Associates or Bachelors
Special Skills:
- Excellent interpersonal/human relations skill.
- Problem solving, critical thinking and conflict resolution skills.
- Preferred experience with blood draws and finger.
- Knowledge and use of medical Laboratory equipment.
- Basic computer knowledge and skills
- Current CPR/BLS er sticks.
Licensure:
- Current Louisiana State RN
- BLS
