This position is with our Instrumentation, Controls & Vision Systems (ICVS) Business Unit in the growing AMETEK Power Systems & Instruments Division. This role supports two of our product lines: Vehicular Instrumentation Systems (VIS) and Motec Heavy-Duty Camera Solutions. VIS provides global solutions for rugged instrumentation, driver information displays, graphics displays, and message centers for On and Off-road heavy vehicles. Motec focuses on the development and manufacture of customized analog and digital camera monitoring systems for commercial vehicles and mobile machines.


Job Summary:

As a Regional Sales Manager, you will be responsible for developing and executing sales strategies in line with budget expectations, identifying new business opportunities, and maintaining strong relationships with customers within the assigned geography and/or market segment. Additionally, you will be expected to monitor and investigate market trends and work closely with cross-functional teams such as Product Management and Engineering to ensure alignment between market requirements and product portfolio. This is a strategic role that requires a strong business acumen, reasoning skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with others.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop wins strategies for new business pursuits for assigned segments
  • Develop strategic customer accounts and cultivate new business opportunities
  • Identify new products and adjacent market opportunities
  • Manage customers and the associated pipeline of opportunities in Microsoft Dynamics
  • Communicate business unit goals, objectives, and feedback to Divisional Key Accounts
  • Ensure that the sales channel supports new product development goals of engineering and growth objectives of the business short-, mid-, and long-term
  • Establish and maintain key customer relations and knowledge of new development programs and customer timelines. Support Tier 1, 2, or 3 accounts with thorough and incisive knowledge of the customers' supply chain processes.
  • Perform tactical functions: prepare multiyear quote proposals, manage sales/engineering/customer interface, establish pricing, perform negotiations, review contracts, and perform marketing analysis
  • Close cooperation with Inside Sales to confirm monthly, quarterly, and annual demand forecast
  • Provide Product Management with market intelligence, voice of customer, and other competitive insights
  • Support financial reporting including forecasting, budgets, and quarterly reporting requirements; provide regular communication on key programs in pursuit portfolio

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 5+ years of sales and business experience in a business-to-business environment

Desired Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering
  • Sales experience within the instrumentation, construction, and/or heavy vehicle industry
  • Highly collaborative with outstanding communication and networking skills
  • Proven team player who has demonstrated capabilities in the following areas: presentation, writing, leadership, and interpersonal skills
  • Well-developed problem-solving skills, solid organizational skills, and the demonstrated ability to be self-directed and effectively relate to all levels of an organization
  • Hands-on person with the ability to see the big picture
  • Ability to work well under pressure, multitask, and meet deadlines
  • Self-motivated and flexible, with a desire to learn and grow professionally
  • Computer skills to include Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Location Information:

This position may be in-office, hybrid, or 100% remote, depending on your location and preference. Must be willing to travel up to 50% of the time, predominantly US domestic.
