Regional RN Nursing Director
Job Description: Apple Rehab currently has an exciting opening for a Regional RN Director of Nursing. Although based out of the corporate office, this position will be fully on the road within a regional assignment of skilled nursing facilities in CT and RI. The Regional RN Director of Nursing will provide clinical oversight over the nursing department at assigned facilities, focusing on survey preparedness as well as counseling on clinical concerns and state reportable events. This is an administrative position, requiring availability by email and phone during off-hours situations in case of emergency.
Participates in pre-survey inspections for all Apple Rehab facilities. Reports directly to the Vice President of Clinical Services for Apple Rehab. Travel time (driving) is required for this position.
• Demonstrates leadership and supervisory skills preferably in a long term care/skilled nursing facility.
• Must be innovative and able to find creative ways to serve the variety of employee and resident needs and maintain the customer focus.
• Must be knowledgeable of general, rehabilitative, and restorative practices, procedures, laws, regulations and guidelines governing long term care.
• Demonstrates collaboration in assisting and coaching others to work as a team for the focus and benefit of the residents.
• Patience, tact, enthusiasm, and a positive attitude towards staff, residents, vendors, visitors, customers, etc.
Required Qualifications: - At least five years experience as Director of Nursing of record in a Skilled Nursing Facility
- RN Licensure in Connecticut in good standing
- Must be able to assume the role of interim DNS as needed.
Preferred Qualifications: - Staff Development experience in a SNF
- RN Supervision experience in a SNF
- RN Licensure in Rhode Island in good standing a plus
- Wound Care Certification
- Prior Experience in Point Click Care
- Prior experience in Electronic Medication Administration
