JOB SUMMARY AND QUALIFICATIONS:

The Regional Outreach Specialist is responsible for all outreach and engagement of referral sources relating to all programs in assigned communities that include, but are not limited to the judicial system, corrections departments, hospital and healthcare providers, Veteran services agencies, housing authorities, and other community partners. Additionally, Regional Outreach Specialists identify, and target populations needing VOA services to encourage and direct their participation. Regional Outreach Specialists also are responsible for the oversight of managing all referral relationships including coordination of in person outreach, digital marketing, and other communication channels that yields qualified leads for program admissions. The position assists in providing peer support for persons in recovery within VOA's Recovery Community Centers.




WHAT YOU SHOULD HAVE FOR THIS ROLE:
This position requires a high school diploma. Skills in oral and written communication. Ability to effectively communicate with target population. Ability to exercise tact, diplomacy,
judgment, discretion, and honesty. Must learn and apply agency and program policies and procedures. Computer skills, including the capacity to use Microsoft Office, Microsoft Excel, and other programs to manage a high volume of detailed information and responsibilities. Must have a personal automobile, valid driver's license, liability insurance, and be willing and able to travel between counties served by the project, up to 90% of the time. Must complete required training within 90 days of hire.




RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Conducts outreach to identify and engage target population.

• Ensures compliance with grant requirements.

• Ensures Volunteers of America's positive public image when working with social service agencies, local businesses, community partners, etc.

• Deep understanding of Volunteers of America programs and services in the assigned geography.

• To model agency core values of integrity, compassion, diversity, commitment, and justice to all internal and external contacts.

• Follow through on intake procedure, including transporting potential clients.

• Understand the barriers that clients in both urban and rural areas face and how to best serve clients in both areas.

• Maintain regular/weekly contact with referral sources and check for possible new referrals and updates on bed census with VOA Recovery, as well as communicating with leadership in all programs in assigned geography on program goals

• Understand and communicate with referral sources and community partners about all VOA programs and keep updated on basic eligibility requirements for all programs in service area.

• Participate in outreach activities and provide vision-drive hope and encouragement for opportunities at varying levels of involvement in community-based activities.

• Demonstrate ability to relate to potential clients in a culturally appropriate manner.

• Develop relationships with community groups/agencies in partnership with others in the agency.

• Maintain project logs, reports and records in appropriate files and databases.

• Assist in the development of ongoing community training opportunities.

• Participate in all appropriate staff, supervision, case consultation, and training meetings across all departments in service area.

• Identifies systemic barriers and communicates with organizational leadership about these barriers to work collaboratively to find viable solutions.

• Report and be accountable to a variety of program leaders and requirements

• Assumes other duties as assigned by program leadership and Senior Management.

• Performance quality improvement (PQI) duties as assigned by supervision & PQI
