Referral Coordinator

Become a part of our caring community and help us put health first CenterWell is a Subsidiary of Humana, seeking a hard-working and dedicated Referral Coordinator, to prepare and process all managed care referral paperwork, schedules and pre-registers patients for exams and procedures with specialists and providers outside of the primary care physician's office and who is interested in being part of a team that focuses on excellent service to others. Job Functions Prepares and processes all managed care referral paperwork. Gathers pertinent information from physicians, nurse practitioners and nursing staff to complete referrals. Contacts various offices/facilities to obtain necessary appointments for completing referrals. Maintains referral records and files documentation. Responds to patient inquiries regarding health plan referrals. Maintains strictest confidentiality; adheres to all HIPAA guidelines/regulations. Use your skills to make an impact Required Qualifications 1+ years of hands-on healthcare experience in a clinical setting, preferably within the Medicare population. Proficient with medical terminology Experience with EMRs (Electronic Medical Records) / Medical Records Must have the ability to travel locally to assist other clinics in the area when needed. Must be able to work at the CenterWell Care clinic located at: 1511 Commerce Blvd. Suite , Opelousas, LA 70570 Preferred Qualifications Knowledge of ICD 10 and CPT coding Medical Referral experience Working hours: Monday to Friday 8AM-5PM Additional Information This role is considered patient facing and is part of Humana's Tuberculosis (TB) screening program. If selected for this role, you will be required to be screened for TB. Scheduled Weekly Hours 40 Pay Range The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting.
