Provides a full range of activity therapy activities and techniques to meet the developmental needs of mentally ill and/or mentally-disabled prisoners, within the specific discipline of recreational therapy. As a lead worker, this position would oversee the work of other professional staff, assisting in the assignment of work assignments, reviewing work assignments, resolving work related problems and providing guidance to staff in establishing priorities and coordinating activities. This position requires a person with skills and ability to provide various professional recreational therapy assignments and activities used in the therapeutic treatment of mentally ill/disabled prisoners within the Department of Corrections. This position is a member of an interdisciplinary treatment team assessing the need for, devising, and interpreting recreational therapy techniques and treatment interventions. The position has the responsibility of case management duties for an assigned group of prisoners. Required Education and Experience Education Possession of a bachelor's degree in recreational therapy.
