Type:Full TimeSalary/Pay Rate:$55,000Posted Date:10/18/:51 AM Richard Hall Community Health and Wellness Center Full-Time, 37.5 hours per week, Exempt, Grant-Funded The Recovery Support Specialist is responsible for working with individuals that have opted into the Operation for Help and Hope (O4HH) after being arrested to support and strengthen their capacity to engage in their personal recovery from Substance Use Disorders and co-occurring problems. The Recovery Support Specialist will help individuals with linkages and referrals to treatment or recovery supports to assist the individual in achieving their goals within their individualized recovery plan. The Recovery Support Specialist will assist clients in navigating the mental health and substance use system of care, remove barriers to recovery, stay engaged in the recovery process, and live a full life. The Recovery Support Specialist will assist with emotional support for any legal issues, provide transportation for necessary treatment appointments, complete all necessary documentation and/or reports, and maintain a relationship with any legal entities involved, especially Somerset County Prosecutor's Office. Essential Functions Provide peer coaching face to face and/or via telehealth platform and teach and role model the value of recovery by offering support which includes sharing their recovery experiences while individuals move through the stages of change to encourage them in their recovery. Serve as a recovery agent providing advocacy and assistance for the individual to obtain services that suit their recovery needs by providing outreach and engagement via warm hand-offs in the Center and throughout the community. Assist team and individual in the development of a treatment plan based on the individual's identified goals inclusive of strengths, needs and abilities. Enhance identification and participation in the recovery community. Contributes to agency performance improvement efforts to assure treatment is in accordance with state regulations and accrediting body standards. Collaborate/communicate with systems partners. Documents all clinical activity and correspondence in accordance with Center policy, state regulations, and Joint Commission standards. Engage in team meetings and individual supervision. Works closely with the Clinical Supervisor on progress towards program goals and to ensure all data collection required for grant reporting is completed. Performs other related duties as assigned. Essential Qualifications Recovery Support Specialists are to be hired and must have a high school diploma or equivalency. Certified Peer Recovery Specialist (CPRS); Recovery Coach Professional (RCP) or National Certified Peer Recovery Support Specialist (NCPRSS) certifications through The Addiction Professionals Certification Board of New Jersey (or equivalent agency in other states) Two (2) years' experience in providing services to individuals who have co-occurring substance use and mental health disorders Has experience in working across cultures Lived experience in mental health and/or substance use disorders in recovery for a minimum of five years. Must possess a valid NJ driver's license in good standing; Ability to work collaboratively and build relationships with colleagues, coworkers, vendors, contractors, and the public. Skill in using computer applications including electronic health record, spreadsheets, databases, and word processing software. Ability to identify and maintain confidential information. Ability to comprehend, express and exchange information in English over the phone, in person, in writing or through other communication or electronic devices. PREFERRED Associates Degree or above. Knowledge of Wellness and Recovery Principles, Person Centered Care, Trauma Informed Care and Integrated Healthcare; Bilingual (English/Spanish) SKILLS: Crisis stabilization, case management, effective group leadership, engagement skills, clinical assessment skills, excellent oral and written communication and understanding of legal, ethical and liability issues, effective and efficient time management skills.
