Job Details:
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Permanent Real Estate Accountant to join our dynamic team. This is an excellent opportunity to apply your skills in a challenging and rewarding environment. The successful candidate will support all financial aspects of our real estate portfolio, including property acquisitions, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting. Responsibilities:
  • Oversee all financial aspects of our real estate portfolio, including property acquisitions, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
  • Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting activities including reconciliations of bank and credit card accounts, coordination and completion of annual audits, and reviewing financial reports/support as necessary.
  • Set-up new projects in accounting system; periodic reconciliations
  • Analyze and report on financial status including income statement variances, communicating financial results to management, budget preparation, and analysis.
  • Improve systems and procedures and initiate corrective actions.
  • Oversee taxes and abide by federal regulations.
  • Review and provide budgets-to-actual costs reports with/to Project Management
  • Develop forecasts and financial plans for properties in our portfolio based on research and data reports.
  • Review all financial plans and budgets regularly to look for cost reduction opportunities.
  • Record and reconcile draw reimbursements/project receivables

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
  • Minimum of 3+ years of experience in Real Estate Accounting is mandatory.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) preferred.
  • Proficient in MS Office (especially Excel) and financial management software (e.g. Yardi, RealPage, MRI).
  • Strong understanding of business and income tax worksheets and computations.
  • Excellent mathematical skills and an understanding of data privacy standards.
  • Exceptional knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, cost accounting, and cost control principles, and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Superior attention to detail; organizational and analytical skills; and ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively with different levels of employees and external vendors.
  • High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
