This is a part-time position that will be working from Anderson as their location. This position requires a bachelor's degree. Summary of the position: To guide student toward the fulfillment of their intellectual, physical, and psychological potential. Works with classroom teachers to assist students who are in Title I. Qualifications: Appropriate certification as required by the Indiana Department of Education. Ability to plan and organize. Skills in human relations. Ability to communicate effectively before groups of students and parents. Five years of successful high school teaching and coaching experience. Other qualifications as deemed desirable by the School board. Supervises: None Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Classroom Planning, Instruction, and Management: o Personalizes instruction by planning a program of study that meets the individual needs of students. o Secures and prepares instructional materials in advance and shows written evidence of preparation. o Plans purposeful assignments. o Assists in the evaluation, selection, and requisition of books, equipment, audio-visuals, and other supplementary materials. o Demonstrates a knowledge of the subject matter. o Diagnoses and develops plans for the learning problems of students appropriate to the level of achievement. o Implements all curriculum programs positively and efficiently. o Participates in curriculum development appropriate to the assignment. o Establish clear objectives for all learning experiences and communicate these objectives to students. o Demonstrates the ability to communicate effectively with students. o Makes use of a variety of resources, materials, and methods in an effort to improve the effectiveness of instruction. o Speaks using fluent and appropriate language in modulated tones. o Student assessment is done regularly, is aligned with instructional objectives, and is clearly communicated to students, parents, and administrators. o Exhibits interest in what is being taught and in the needs of the student. o Effectively communicates with colleagues, students, and parents. o Promptly and accurately handles routine matters involving reports that relate to Title I requirements. o Takes all necessary precautions to protect and maintain facilities, equipment, and materials. o Return materials to their assigned place or designated personnel promptly after use. o Emphasizes and enforces safety factors within the classroom, building, and throughout the school. o As an extension of classroom management responsibilities, supervises students throughout the school as assigned or as circumstances require. o Maintains a disciplined atmosphere appropriate to the teaching environment. o Maintains a practice of good housekeeping for self and students to enhance the learning environment. o Established reasonable classroom rules with consistent enforcement occurring in a positive way. o Start class on time, get students on task, and make maximum use of instructional time. Staff Relationships: o Assists in the implementation of policies and/or regulations that are established by the School Board. o Attends and participates in staff meetings as required. o Adheres to administrative regulations and directives. o Cooperates with Administrative and supervisory staff in the evaluation process. o Established and maintained cooperative relations with co-workers and the Director of Title I. Professionalism o Demonstrates professional ethics in activities in school and community. o Demonstrates respect for the worth and dignity of each student. o Engages in professional growth through an ongoing program of reading, workshops, seminars, conferences, and/or advanced coursework. o Makes provisions for being available to students and parents for education-related purposes. o Cooperates with community agencies as they pertain to classroom activities. o Demonstrates a positive view of the philosophy and objectives of the school to parents and community. o Abides by adopted Board of Education policies and procedures. o Maintains a satisfactory record of punctuality and attendance. o Conducts all school-related activities in a manner that serves as a positive influence on youth.
