About the job:
Radiology Support performs a variety of clerical functions to maintain smooth operation of the Radiology clerical and film/ Image file areas.
What we are looking for:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent required
Licensure / Certification:
Experience: Prior work experience in a Radiology Department or Health Care field preferred.
Effective Communication Skills
Computer competency required.
Knowledge of medical terminology preferred with the ability to grasp detailed procedures and technical language.
Ability to perform duties with minimal supervision
What you will do:
Supports patient care in imaging services, ensures an environment of patient safety, supports evidence-based practice and quality initiatives and exhibits professionalism within established Radiology and Imaging National standards.
Responsible for entering on-line orders in the computer system (Radiology Information System-RIS) and accountable for tracking/validation of Radiology report completion.
Performs all film file room and clerical support functions associated with the release of imaging studies to physician offices and other facilities for continuity of care. Other Job Responsibilities
Attends in-service programs and departments meetings.
Follows guidelines for Radiation Safety as outlined in MCHS Radiation Safety Manual.
Responsible for compliance with Organizational Integrity through raising questions and promptly reporting actual or potential wrongdoing.
All other duties as assigned.
