R&D Senior Mechanical Engineer

An innovative biotechnology company is looking to bring on a Senior Mechanical R&D Engineer for development, validation, and integration of their novel systems for DNA extraction and purification. This company is in the start up stages and is venture backed. In this role the right candidate will lead new product development activities including: planning and executing verification testing, resolving build issues, scoping and planning product revisions, and designing for reliability, cost, assembly, and maintenance.

Responsibilities:
Lead the electromechanical development and validation of novel approaches to automate laboratory protocols
Scope, plan, direct, and execute product verification testing and determine next steps for all issue
Be a productive collaborator with other engineers within the team in an early-stage company
Requirements:
A Masters or Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field with 5+ years of experience
Expertise with SolidWorks and complex assemblies
Designing for manufacturing, and manufacturing engineering support experience
Experience with complex electromechanical machines e.g. laboratory equipment, consumer devices etc.)
Start-up experience or new product development, manufacture, launch preferred
