SUMMARY:

The Quality Manager is responsible for the Quality System in accordance with applicable standards for the automotive industry or customer-specific requirements.

This an on-site position in Livonia, Michigan. A hybrid or fully remote work arrangement is not available.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Drives a culture that is focused on Quality and Productivity by coaching and training to ensure adherence to the Company's and Customer requirements for PPAP and Quality documentation.
  • Develops, implements and maintains the overall Quality Assurance System that incorporates ISO and AS9100 principles as required. Acts as the management representative for the Quality System implementation and maintenance.
  • Evaluates the capability of all processes and initiates corrective actions as appropriate to remain within specifications.
  • Develops or revises standard operational and working practices as related to quality.
  • Plans and conducts internal audits to ensure compliance with all quality standards and customer requirements.
  • Resolves quality complaints submitted from the manufacturing floor, customers, vendors or any other party.
  • Communicates material and supply quality concerns and works collaboratively with cross-functional teams to resolve.
  • Compiles and stores/retains quality data in a consistent, organized and easily retrievable manner.
  • Manages the Document Control system.
  • Develops technical specifications and methods when necessary, covering quality requirements.
  • Manages and supervises all quality functions.
  • Participates on teams and provides report-out to Company leadership for Key Performance Indicators (KPI's).
  • Defines and participates in continuous learning activities focused on improved individual and team performance.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor Degree. Area of study as Quality, Engineering, or other related business degree. 8 years of relevant work experience will be considered in lieu of the Bachelor Degree.
  • 5 years in a Quality leadership role in automotive manufacturing.
  • Professional Certification by the American Society of Quality preferred.
  • Experience must include ISO/TS, APQP, PPAP, SPC, IATF, FEMA, Gage R&R, CMM.
  • Must be knowledgeable of problem-solving methods, specifically 5-Why and 8D.
  • Must have prior experience leading projects to address/reduce quality defects and customer concerns.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office, with advanced proficiency in Excel for purposes of data collection and analysis.
  • Must be familiar with Google calendar and Gmail.
