General Information

  • QC Inspector

  • Located in Euclid

  • $18-$24/hour based on experience

  • Monday - Thursday 6am - 4pm, occasional OT on Fridays

  • Temp to Hire opportunity with the company.


As the Quality Inspector you would be responsible for inspecting completed parts to ensure quality, as well as providing gage calibration.


Duties/Responsibilities

  • Inspect machined workpieces at inspections or machining stations to ensure conformance to specifications to various stages of production.

  • Reads blueprints or engineering specifications to obtain product information such as specified material, surface finish, dimensions, and mechanical properties.

  • Tests surface finish of workpiece by using surface profile measuring instruments to ensure production of specified surface finish.

  • Measures dimensions such as length, height, and distance between reference points using precision instruments such as micrometers, calipers, dial indicator, and snap gauge to ensure product meets specifications.

  • Locates reference point on part and measures dimensions such as angle, arc, and radii using combination aids such as surface plates, parallel bars, angle plates, gauge blocks, V-blocks, sine bars, optical comparator, or other precision measuring instruments.

  • Reports findings to Inspection Supervisor.

  • Selects products for tests at specified stages in production process, and tests products for variety of qualities such as dimensions, performance, and mechanical, electrical, or chemical characteristics.

  • Evaluates data and writes reports to validate or indicate deviations from existing standards.

  • Visually examines product for surface defects such as cracks, broken tooling etc.

  • Test hardness of product using Rockwell Hardness testers.

  • Calibration of company gages along with documentation.



Skills/Qualifications

  • 2 years' experience in a QC department in a manufacturing environment.

  • Experience with using precision measuring instruments.

  • Ability to read blueprints and drawings.

  • High attention to detail.

  • Previous experience with calibrating gages a plus.

  • Will be subject to other pre-employment screening.
