Job Description

Responsible for continuous improvement in all aspects of manufacturing, including identifying and resolving quality problems. Implements various components of a quality assurance/CI program comprised of data analysis, systems evaluation, product/process assessment, and quality/manufacturing technology. Develops, maintains, and audits process parameters and process control procedures. Responsible for raw material, in-process, and finished goods quality control. Investigates and identifies product or process defects, recommends modifications in products or standards, and prepares necessary documentation.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Actively manage inspection/quality practices to eliminate escapes and minimize customer returns.

Review and track all internal and customer quality concerns (NCRs). Work with customers, engineering, operations, and vendors and other company functions to determine appropriate corrective actions and facilitate the effective closure of these actions.

Team member for the APQP process for new product development and launch; including, but not limited to PFMEA, Control Plans, Process Flow, Design for Manufacturability, etc. Interface with design and production team in coordinating release of new products.

Manage various projects such as review of new equipment installations, installation support for projects, and safety upgrades.

Assist in contract review and develop/maintain inspection/approval criteria, part routings, and process sheets as needed for all phases of product realization.

Report on the performance of the QMS, metrics, and all related issues during Management Reviews or as appropriate. Recommend appropriate improvements.

Maintain all Quality Assurance records.

Manage the MRB process and facilitate and champion the corrective action process.

Responsible for development and continuous improvement of the company's Quality Management System.

Manage internal and supplier audits, as required by customers and the company's Quality Management System. Serve as the organizations Management Representative for audits from outside sources.

Drive cost improvement, productivity, and continuous improvement initiatives throughout the facility.

Conduct cost studies for new processes or equipment; develop improvements for current manufacturing methods & processes; conduct process optimization; determine/improve time standards; perform audits in assigned area to resolve any open issues; make recommendations for tooling and process requirements of new or existing product lines.

Provide or facilitate the realization of training to employees as required, including indirect mentoring of maintenance and production resources.

Support and enforce all plant safety and environmental requirements and policies.
