We are looking for a qualified Composite Technician to support development and production activities related to composite part manufacturing. The ideal candidate will have experience working around hot ovens/furnaces and have knowledge of proper chemical handling practices. They will be expected to maintain safety and productivity while working within a quality system, and they will support all aspects of production from supply chain management, to part production, and final delivery. The Composite Technician will perform a wide variety of hands-on activities including, but not limited to: kitting, molding, equipment maintenance, fabrication, and assembly.

This is a full-time, direct hire position with 1st shift hours.

Typical Responsibilities

Perform a wide variety of coordination tasks, including but not limited to: maintain and audit an AS9100 quality system, quality checks of production and R&D products, review customer quality requirements and certification creation.

Ensure that customer concerns are reacted to efficiently and maintain a local corrective action database

Ensure that all records are maintained to provide evidence that the QMS is being followed

Ensure that all new staff are inducted into the requirements of QMS related to their own roles and responsibilities. Create and Provide updated training as necessary.

Create trainings to new documents and specifications and assist process engineering with corrective actions.

Ensure that all suppliers used by the organization are selected, evaluated and reevaluated and that records of this assessment are maintained.

Complete various audits of the local quality systems, and escalate findings as needed.

Think about continual improvements to QMS. Ensure that evidence of corrective and preventive actions taken are recorded and reviewed.

Create certification documents for customers.

Perform in-line quality checks of work in progress.

Review customer quality requirements on incoming orders.

Desired Qualifications

Experience working with textile weaving is a plus

Experience working with composite materials is a plus

Training and/or experience with AS9145 is a plus

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment autonomously and under pressure and complete all assigned tasks

Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing and perform basic math calculations

Ability to solve problems using existing procedures to perform straightforward tasks

Can work well with others in a diverse group and foster a cooperative work environment

Possess a working knowledge of MS Office

Ability to operate a variety of hand tools

Demonstrated experience using Lean Methodologies with a Continuous Improvement Mindset

Familiarity with SolidWorks, document control, and non-conformance disposition.

Experience in the design and manufacture of complex, precise aerospace parts.

Strong oral and written communication skills.

Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.

Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems.

Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs.

Established project management skills.

Familiarity with various problem solving techniques: 8Ds; Fish-bones; 5Ys

Requirements

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited university or college

Minimum of 5 years of experience in quality engineering or inspection

Ability to obtain and maintain US DoD SECRET clearance.

Experience with AS9100 or ISO 9001 is a requirement

Ability to complete a FAIR is a requirement

Audit experience is a requirement

Candidates will be required to pass a drug test
