Job Description

Job Title: Quality Control Technician II

Location: Lexington, MA


About the role:

As a Quality Control Technician, you will provide operational support for the Manufacturing and QC GMP functions, both for cross-functional teams and for core laboratory operations support. You will also focus on support activities such as environmental monitoring, important utility sampling, sample transport, and general laboratory support. You will report to the Quality Control Manager.


How you will contribute:
  • Focus on aspects related to EM sampling including high-quality water systems, cleanroom environments, and gasses (in the field in manufacturing, utility, and laboratory locations), transporting of samples, some limited support testing, coordination of related activities that tie in with Environmental Monitoring.

  • Operational support activities such as in-field sampling/inspections, sample management, records management, EM area housekeeping activities and lab support responsibilities, data review.

  • Support document generation, such as sampling procedures, sample transport procedures, maintenance of GMP documentation.

  • Coordination with other departments to facilitate support activities (ex. field sampling or sample collection), involvement in non-routine projects within the department.


What you bring to Takeda:
  • Normally requires a high school diploma and a minimum of 2-4 years related experience (Higher degrees may reduce the minimum years' experience required).

  • Some knowledge of the job. Substantial acquaintance with and understanding of general aspects of the job with a broad understanding of the detailed aspects of the job.

  • Experience in Laboratory Information Management Systems, Trackwise, EDMS would be ideal.

  • Travel between the MA sites is expected on a routine basis. A valid driver's license is required as sample transport may include driving a company vehicle.


Important Considerations

At Takeda, our patients rely on us to deliver quality products. As a result, we must follow strict rules in our manufacturing facilities to ensure we are not endangering the quality of the product. In this role, you may:

  • May be required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) and other clean room garments daily. This may include safety shoes, safety glasses, aprons, face shields, lab coats, full body gowns, hair nets and gloves and hearing protection.

  • Need to remove all make-up, jewelry, contact lenses, nail polish and/or artificial fingernails while in the manufacturing environment.

  • Ability to lift, pull, or push equipment requiring 50lbs of force.

  • Repetitive bending and reaching to setup and break-down equipment.

  • Ability to climb ladders and work platforms.

  • Ability to work around chemicals.

  • Ability to wear personal protective equipment such as gloves, gowning, and respiratory protection in some cases.

  • Ability to walk and stand for periods of time.

  • Individual may be required to participate in environmental chamber monitoring program which would include the use of an on-call mobile phone as well as on-site support during non-business hours.

  • Work in a cold, wet environment.

  • Work multiple shifts, including weekends, or be asked to work supplemental hours, as necessary.

  • Work around chemicals such as alcohol, acids, buffers and Celite that may require respiratory protection.

U.S. Hourly Wage Range:

$18.85 - $29.62

The estimated hourly wage range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual hourly wage offered may depend on a variety of factors, including the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.The actual hourly wage offered will be in accordance with state or local minimum wage requirements for the job location.


U.S. based employees may be eligible for short-term incentives.
