Vaxxinova US is seeking a Quality Control Lab Associate to join our team in Willmar, MN.
About the role
The Quality Control Lab Associate, reporting to the Quality Control Team Leader, is responsible for executing required testing of all vaccine components during the manufacturing process.
Main responsibilities:
- Sterility testing of vaccine components per codified testing protocols.
- Operation of autoclave for decontamination of biohazard material and sterilization of instruments.
- General microbiology procedures such as plate streaking, Gram staining, bacterial enumeration, and microbial identification.
- Perform minimally to moderately complex chemical and immunological assays, such as protein determination and formaldehyde concentration.
- Perform complex testing with protein extraction and analysis to assess antigenic potency.
- Frequent cleaning and sanitization of the work area and equipment.
- Maintenance of records associated with testing procedures. Records are kept manually.
- Perform routine facility cleaning and keeping work areas in a neat and orderly condition.
- Review and update testing documentation.
- Promote safety in all areas of work, professional courtesy, and a positive work environment within the company.
Qualifications and Capabilities
- Familiar with basic microbiology principles.
- Understanding of quality control standards and methodologies.
- Basic math skills, including serial dilutions and log calculations, required.
- Working knowledge of MS Office.
- Demonstrates excellent verbal, written, and record keeping skills.
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to communicate and work effectively within teams and across departments.
- Ability to adapt and react positively to changes in daily routine.
- Experience with aseptic technique and pipette use highly preferred.
- One (1) year work experience in a laboratory environment required.
- Associates degree or higher in any technical field preferred.
