SUMMARY :

The Quality Assurance Assistant Manager is detail-oriented, can understand the business, and can lead their team positively.

The suitable candidate will also work collaboratively across various organizational functions and levels and with customers.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :

Manages employees performing quality Inspections and technical activities in support of business needs.

Implements and ensures effective execution of the Quality Management System through education/coaching.

Provides information to all departments to execute strategies, plans, policies, and procedures to maintain and improve performance.

Assists in the identification and documentation of nonconforming items and failed inspections.

Implement corrective action plans with customers as needed.

Ensure that inspections and documentation are completed per quality requirements.

Oversee and investigate returned products from customers and in-house defective parts.

Manage suppliers and internal quality corrective actions.

Create and implement changes to improve processes and reduce costs.

Develop and conduct training of department personnel to include safety processes and procedures.

Develop, review, and manage successful departmental Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

Provide strategic guidance to management regarding trends in product quality, failed inspections, and customer satisfaction.

Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, peers, and subordinates

Manages resources, provides quality system management, and leads quality performance.

Maintain working environment by complying with ISO14001, safety guidelines, procedures, and regulations.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (Desired Skills/Experience):

Experience in a cross-cultural working environment.

Experience implementing continuous process improvement, lean processes, and employee involvement and engagement strategies in a manufacturing environment.

Working knowledge and use of Quality measurement tools, Toyota Best Practices, Surveillance, and Compliance Audits.

Work effectively before deadlines; maintain detailed and accurate records.

Good communication skills.

Ability to lift 30 lbs.



SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:


Supervisory department to include Inspectors, Auditors, Team Leaders, Assistants and Specialists.


WORKING CONDITIONS:


Work is indoors in environmentally controlled conditions. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, talk, or hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :


Any combination of experience and training that would likely provide the required

knowledge and abilities will qualify. However, we prefer the following.

High school diploma

Minimum 3 years' experience in Quality Control.

Minimum 1 year of leadership experience in Quality Control or Manufacturing.

Minimum 1 year of experience performing product process or compliance audits of Quality Management Systems.

Math skills - Basic mathematic skills to ensure accurate measurements.

Intermediate computer skills and knowledge of working with Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Effective oral and written communication skills.

Bilingual, English-Spanish preferred
