Who you are: As a Quality and Safety Nurse (RN) Specialist with Catholic Medical Center (CMC) you will identify accreditation, safety and risk vulnerabilities of the organization and subsequently lead multidisciplinary teams in implementing improvements resulting in standardized practices, error reduction and error prevention This is a fully benefitted 40 hour position, Monday-Friday, with a hybrid possibility after training. What you'll do: Support survey readiness by maintaining a working knowledge of accreditation and regulatory requirements for assigned settings, as set forth by the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) Conditions of Participation (CoP's). Utilize knowledge of quality, risk, and performance improvement to assess the organization for safety issues, opportunities for risk reduction, standardization of processes and opportunities for improvement. Assist teams, committees, and groups in establishing and implementing performance improvement initiatives as identified through organizational risk assessments and as prioritized by the CMC Quality Management Oversight Committee Accurately interpret and abstract clinical information from various sources, including electronic medical records, utilizing appropriate specifications for publically reported and regulatory measures. Facilitate medical staff peer review activities including monitoring and evaluation of patterns and trends through various sources such as Echo, 2BSafe occurrence report, and complaints. Support CMC's event reporting process through review and investigation of reported safety events in collaboration with quality/risk, operational leadership and the medical staff. What you'll bring: A Bachelor degree and/or equivalent training in a health care-related field including formal training in management. Master's degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, Public Health or health care-related field preferred. A minimum of five (5) years clinical experience as an RN with special emphasis on Medical/Surgical Nursing and preferably an exposure to all clinical areas. Two (2) years' experience in Performance Improvement, Patient Safety or Risk Analysis preferred Certification in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) is highly recommended.
