LifeStream is a behavioral health and social services organization that provides high-quality treatment, education, care management, rehabilitation, child welfare, primary care and homeless services to children, adolescents, and adults. Located in Central Florida, LifeStream primarily serves the residents of Lake, Citrus and Sumter Counties, with additional programs located in Orange, Marion, Hernando counties. JOB SUMMARY: The Quality Improvement Specialist functions as assistance to the QI/RM Director with an ongoing quality assessment and improvement program designed to systematically monitor, evaluate, and improve the quality of care provided to the organization's customers. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS and RESPONSIBILITIES: The list of essential functions, as outlined herein, is intended to be representative of the tasks performed within this classification with or without an accommodation. Program planning and evaluation, verbal and written communication, critical thinking and analysis, group leadership and supervision Monitor clinical performance of the Center's programs and services by o Establishing and monitoring program indicators o Coordinating the peer review program o Surveying satisfaction levels in the organization's customers o Compiling data to support contract requirements o Assisting programs in the development and maintenance of the electronic clinical record Analyze data to identify opportunities to improve care. Facilitate implementation of actions to improve care. Provide consultation, education, and technical assistance to staff, to further the implementation of Performance Improvement Plans. Must be able to discern acts/conditions which impact, or have the potential to impact, the quality of services in the organization; able to determine appropriate corrective actions; able to determine when to seek authorization, guidance, and consultation. SPECIAL FACTORS: Must have the ability and interest to keep abreast of new information and trends in the QA/QI and related fields. EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: Education: High School diploma or GED equivalent required Bachelor's degree or R.N. with certification in Quality Assurance preferred Experience: At least one year of QA/QI or related field experience combined with three years of clinical and administrative experience in a hospital or mental health setting.
