QC Laboratory Technician

5 AM 1:30 PM every other Saturday

Executes assigned microbiological or chemistry testing in accordance with regulated laboratory testing techniques, approved procedures, and Customer specifications.

Essential Job Functions
Executes Laboratory tests (eg. Bioburden, TOC, LAL Endotoxin, Environmental Monitoring and Activities including air, surface and personnel inside classified manufacturing clean rooms, Water Sampling, EO Residual, Cleaning Qualifications, and Test Method Validations) in compliance with regulations and procedures, utilizing aseptic technique as needed.
Records and maintains appropriate data with minimal errors.
Reports any unusual or out of specification testing results to management immediately.
Recognizes problem areas with samples, procedures, results, records, or equipment. Attempts to identify appropriate corrective action and notifies supervisor of problem and potential corrective actions.
Participates in the research, development, and review of methods and Standard Operating Procedures.
Performs media preparation, cleaning of glassware and reusable equipment, and/or steam sterilization of supplies and equipment used in microbiological assays.

Education:
Minimum BA/BS degree or AA plus equivalent experience in a laboratory environment.

Specific skills and or business competencies:
Knowledge of microbes such as bacteria, mold, and yeast.
Knowledge of standard aseptic techniques and common laboratory equipment use.
Ability to perform technical document preparation. Good verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work under control in pressure situations and adapt rapidly to change.
Basic math skills, including fractions, decimals, and dilution schemes.
Ability to lift and exert force of up to 25 lbs.
