We're currently seeking a highly motivated Public Works Construction Manager located in Portland, OR .

Required Education:
•  A Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or a related field is preferable.
Preferred Certifications/Licenses:
•  OSHA 10
•  CPR First Aid
•  Confined Space Entry Hazard Recognition and Evaluation
•  Excavation/Trench Hazard Recognition and Evaluation
•  Erosion Control
Required Qualifications:

In order to become a candidate, you must possess the following skills and abilities.
•  5 years of relevant experience as a resident engineer or construction manager
•  3-5 years of experience in water, wastewater, stormwater, and related experience
•  Practices of civil engineering, infrastructure design, and construction.
•  Federal, state, and local laws, codes, and regulations regarding public works construction.
•  Trends, approaches, and problem-solving techniques used in construction, engineering, inspection, and compliance processes.
•  Modern methods of construction and structural design concepts.
•  Techniques, equipment, and materials used in public works construction.
•  Construction site safety practices and procedures.
Responsibilities:
•  Monitor Contractor's schedule performance; review progress against the approved baseline and assist in evaluation of Contractor's monthly updates
•  Coordinate with contractors and City to ensure inspections and final acceptance testing dates support the overall Program schedule
•  Review work-in-place to ensure compliance with technical requirements and operational and maintenance requirements.
•  Assist with change order reviews for legitimacy and cost reasonableness
•  Manage issue tracking and follow up until resolution
•  Participate in constructability reviews and design coordination meetings as requested
•  Attend all major Owner/Contractor meetings
•  Monitor contract document administration (contract changes, Bulletins, RFIs, etc.)
•  Adhere to client-specific electronic filing and filing for archives
Salary:
•  $55.00 - $60.00 per hour Bonus Pay:
A bonus may be granted to employees depending on individual performance, employee utilization, attendance, tenure, and furtherance of other non-financial corporate goals; bonus opportunities are available at management's discretion.
