Psychiatry opening in Defiance, Ohio Located 50m to Toledo, 45m to Fort Wayne, IN Position Details - Full-time- Permanent- Employed- Small critical-access hospital in Northwest Ohio- 10 inpatient Psychiatric beds- Inpatient and Outpatient mix- The average length of stay for inpatients is 3-4 days Behavioral Health Practice offers: - Outpatient New Evaluations-1 hr.- Outpatient Medication Management visits- 30 min- Neuropsych evals./med management- Office hours are M-Friday, with patient hours being 8:30-5p- Cross cover with Inpatient weekend on call- Friday 5p-Monday 8a (usually 1 weekend a month)- Cross cover of weekly inpatient call and hospital consults- PHP- program is currently being re-evaluated with potential move to IOP program- Outpatient therapy- children through geriatrics - The practice model for the inpatient unit is set up according to state rules. - Psychiatrists are responsible for completing a psychiatric evaluation within 24 hours of admission and managing psychiatric medications. - Rounds must be completed every 24 hours for inpatients. - Programs for inpatients are scheduled in order to help patients gain further coping skills.
