Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner Sheppard Pratt is seeking a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner for Anna Jaques Hospital on the child psychiatric unit in Amesbury, Massachusetts. As the Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner on the unit you'll bring your experience and knowledge where it matters. A Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner is an integral part of our multidisciplinary treatment team on this 16-bed specialty unit and is responsible for patient safety and treatment. You will provide direct care and support not only to our patients but also their families and help make decisions that impact the lives of your team, patients and your community.
How You Care for Our Patients As a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner under the direction of a Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist, plans, assesses, implements, and evaluates nursing care to the unit's child and adolescent patients . Orders, performs, and interprets laboratory and diagnostic testing. Performs psychiatric assessments, completes history & Physicals, conducts individual and family therapies, and manages medications. Assists with the clinical administration of patients by obtaining medication pre-authorizations, tracking lab data, and participating in the clinical database. Completes appropriate documentation in the electronic medical record.
You Bring Meaningful Experience Successful Candidates will have the followings:
- Current license to practice in Massachusetts
- Must have at least 2 years' experience working as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner post graduation.
- Must have experience treating children and adolescents with significant mental health disorders
- Previous experience is preferred in inpatient psychiatric care, restraint education, crisis intervention
