Psychiatric Nurse 2

The Position Psychiatric Nurses provide professional nursing care to individuals with developmental delays, developmental disabilities, intellectual disabilities or social, emotional and/or behavioral disorders, in an institution or out-patient setting in accordance with the authorized scope of practice specified in the Nurse Practice Act. Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform work independently with little or no additional training. The Nevada Department of Corrections has a vacancy for Psychiatric Nurse 2 at Lovelock Correctional Center, in Lovelock, Nevada. This position requires a high level of independence. Candidate must also be reliable, have excellent communication skills and be able to apply critical thinking, assessment, intervention, and evaluation skills to be able to make quick but accurate medical decisions. RN must be able to work under pressure, adjust to change and be able to work well as part of a health care team. Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform work independently with little or no additional training. This position is located at Lovelock Correctional Center in Lovelock, Nevada. Incumbents must be willing to work in this rural area, located 90 miles north of Reno, Nevada.
