This Psychiatric Aide Supervisorposition is for a vacancylocatedin our residential substance use treatment facility, Fontainebleau Treatment Center/Alcohol & Treatment Center in Mandeville, Louisiana.Please see the Examples of Work below foradditionalinformation for this position. This position may be filled as a Probational Appointment. Applicants may be asked to serve a probationary period of not less than 6 months and not more than 24 months. Salary may be negotiable dependingon the chosen applicant's level of experience. Below is a list of the pay range for the position: Psychiatric Aide Supervisor 1: $12.25/hour minimum - $22.05/hour maximum Shift differentials are be provided for 2nd/3rd shift as well as all weekend and holiday shifts. SUBSTITUTIONS: College training with at least six semester hours per year in one or a combination of education, psychology, counseling, social work, sociology, child guidance, or nursing will substitute for the required experience on the basis of thirty semester hours for one year of experience. A Mental Health Aide Diploma from a vocational technical college with an approved curriculum from the Louisiana State Board of Elementary and Secondary Education will substitute for six months of the required experience. NOTE: Most vacancies will be filled by promotion. Completion of an in-service training program administered by the department may be required. Job Concepts Function of Work: To perform highly responsible non-professional nursing support work, which involves supervising lower-level paraprofessional healthcare staff. Level of Work: Supervisor. Supervision Received: General from a Psychiatric Aide Supervisor 2 and/or from other healthcare personnel. Supervision Exercised: Direct over lower-level paraprofessional healthcare staff. Location of Work: State health care facilities and rehabilitation centers. Job Distinctions: Differs from the Psychiatric Aide 3 by the presence of supervisory responsibilities. Differs from the Psychiatric Aide Supervisor 2 by the absence of supervisory responsibilities over several wards. Psychiatric Aide Supervisor 1 positions serve as first-line supervisors. Examples of Work This Psychiatric Aide Supervisor 1 supervises and coordinates activities of subordinate Psychiatric Aides who provide direct care to clients receiving substance use treatment in a 24-hour residential facility. This facility is an ASAM Level III.5 Adult Clinically Managed High Intensity, residential substance use treatment program. Duties may include but are not limited to the completion and/or monitoring the following: continuous observation of clients, taking vital signs, performing room checks, collecting urine drug screens or urinalysis by order of physician or charge nurse, ensuring clients stay on schedule with labs and clinical appointments, maintaining documentation in the electronic health record (EHR), monitoring and/or auditing chart orders and checking/auditing MD orders nightly, creating & preparing documentation for clients with special dietary needs, and working collaboratively with other clinical and administrative staff. Driving and alternating shift work may also be required, and the chosen applicant may be required to possess (or obtain) a Chauffeur's/Class D driver's license if hired.
